This is the famous Eagle & Child Inn, situated in the lovely Lakeland village of Staveley.
We are a ‘proper pub’, one of the few remaining traditional Freehouse’s in the Lake district, proud to serve Cumbrian Ale’s and support our valuable local supplier’s.
Come & visit our unique hostelry brimming with years of collected antique’s & paraphernalia from year’s gone by, enjoy a beer by the fire, a local Lager in our Riverside beer Garden or a tasty bar meal on our lovely Decking.
The Eagle & Child inn is an ideal location for exploring the rest of the Lake District. We are only a few minutes away from the beautiful Kentmere valley and the bustling towns of Windermere and Kendal.

Staveley itself has much to offer – excellent walking, fishing, cycling, and a vibrant array of local businesses including Hawkshead Brewery & Wheelbase the largest bike shop in the UK.
A fantastic location for walking from the doorstep… or a short drive to the Central Lakes in Windermere & Ambleside.
Further afield Keswick or going south the beautiful Furness peninsular.
Either way a great base to return to!
